Model Dermatol has been developed with contributions from numerous academic researchers worldwide. It should be used for purposes such as medical information retrieval through image searches and must not be used as a medical device for disease diagnosis or similar purposes. The algorithm marked the CE MDR class I (May 28, 2021) but has not been approved by the FDA. Although it marked CE, the app is currently positioned as an information search tool rather than a medical device.
